London Cyrenians and WW Mind held a hustings event on Thursday 16th April to encourage people who might not feel confident about voting or about having a say to meet representatives of the main parties and to get a better idea of their party manifestos and what they mean for local people.
Karen Buck MP, Baroness Liz Barker and Elliot Corner spoke on behalf of Labour, the Liberal Democrats and the Green Party respectively at a lunch time event for Westminster residents. There was some lively discussion and questions from the floor. The election has got everyone talking, and hopefully voting.
At WW Mind offices we also held an open afternoon the following day for anyone who wanted to register to vote to do so online before the deadline on Monday. Would be voters were able to come along, use the internet suite and get help if they needed it in order to ensure that they could put their cross against their candidate of choice on 7th May.
