Westminster Forum for Mental Health

Speaking up for mental health service users in Westminster:

  • Consulting with service users
  • Commenting on services
  • Changing services for the better

What do we do? We listen to the views and experiences of people using mental health services in Westminster and feed them back to the people who commission and deliver those services to help ensure that they meet people’s needs.

Examples of our work have been:

  • sitting on NHS staff interview panels
  • developing a code of conduct for meetings between staff & service users
  • training police officers so that they have a better understanding of how to deal with people in distress
  • co-producing strategic plans for mental health services in Westminster

Want to get involved?

You can be involved in a number of ways such as:

  • attending focus groups on relevant issues
  • taking part in surveys
  • getting and sharing regular information updates and newsletters
  • attending consultation and social events once or twice a year
  • attending the monthly forum meeting to share and receive information and updates on what is going on in local mental health services, helping to develop consolidated responses and feedback to commissioners and service managers on strategic and service developments
